Pet Peeves

We all have them.

If you say you don't you're lying to yourself and the rest of us know it.

So here are a few of mine:

First for the record the word is ANYWAY not ANYWAYS. There is NO "S" in ANYWAY!!!
You can have ways as in there are many ways to skin a cat. But NOT ANYWAYS!! Please stop adding an "S".

Second, if "someone" decides there will be a change in an organization, Can SOMEONE, ANYONE, please send out an e-mail, paper note, heck even a smoke signal would be good, letting the affected employees KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!!

And finally, if you have an appointment, you know a set time you have agreed to be in a certain place meeting with a certain person; please have the decency to show up. And if this is beyond your skill level can you at least call and let that person KNOW you will not be meeting them??

I realize these are very challenging tasks but if one could TRY and accomplish these difficult challenges life would be infinitely better.

So...what are YOUR pet peeves???

When people use quotation marks incorrectly. Example:

Can you "believe" she did that?!

What point are they trying to get accross? It drives me nuts!

I find misspellings and poor grammar troublesome, but I simply can't stand the misuse of apostrophes. When one is referring to more than cat, the word is "cats"--not "cat's." The apostrophe-s combo signifies ownership or (sometimes) a contraction of two words. This is not a very challenging concept, people! (Note to Melissa--I displayed proper use of quotation marks in this case.)
