Sleeping

For the last eight days, since last Tuesday, I have been battling a nasty virus. I cough, I sneeze, and I spew disgusting bodily fluids. Quite frankly, I am gross to be around, especially at night. When I lay down the coughing begins. I toss, I turn, I groan, I moan (and not in happiness) basically I am quite annoying to sleep with.

Thus, I felt I should go sleep in the guestroom and allow my husband SOME semblance of sleep. Molly, our newest furry child, is quite pleased to have Kurt all to herself. She adores him.

So, my dilemma, Kurt is sleeping much better without my nocturnal distractions, Molly is a happier doggy, and Sam is absolutely in heaven. Sam has joined me in the guest bedroom. I don't really want to sleep away from my husband. I rather like his big warm body next to me; although, his snoring can be quite a challenge to sleep through. On the other hand I am just sleeping. Does it matter if we sleep in separate beds?

My parents were married 33 years. They had a long marriage and slept in separate beds. (BTW, mom died or they would still be married and dad would not be living with us)

So, if Kurt is sleeping better, and I am not sure about me because I am still sick and nothing is helping me sleep, should I continue to just sleep in the guest bed and give Kurt a good nights rest?

    Wow. Good question.
Our bed is so uncomfortable that Larry goes downstairs at about 3am and sleeps on the couch.
    We don't like that.
A better mattress is in our future soon.
Anyway. About you and Kurt. Everyone is different, and if separate sleeping arraingments work for you guys, go with it.
On the other hand though, it really is of my opinion that intimacy in a marriage (including sharing the bed), is pretty important. Get the sleep apnea taken care of. Have him wear a muzzle. Invest in some ear plugs.
