Swimming, walking, movies and me

Weekends are meant for relaxing and re-charging one batteries. This past weekend delivered.

Friday, I didn't have to work, was one long sloth fest. I did manage to get over to the DMV and get my new tags and get Victor his WA state ID. He is still resisting a valid driver license. Karen & I really can't figure that one out. Oh well. He is now officially a Washingtonian.

I also did a bit of shopping, got Monty washed and found some peaches that were to die for. Later Kurt & I settled into SCI-FI Friday and reveled in our geekdom. Ahh...SG-1. Gotta love the Sci-fi channel.

Saturday, was putter around the house, watch Kurt build a chair for Joanna, play with dogs and go to Joanna's to water her plants.

So far not a taxing weekend... ahh but Sunday: Woke up had a leisurely morning, packed up the boys and headed for the river. Boys had smelly butts and needed some scrubbing. I walked Riley part of the way to the river, in hope of preventing a vomiting episode. Kurt had some errands to run so he took Rudy & Sammy and then picked us up. By the way the walking half way to the river to prevent an “episode”, it worked.

We got down to Frenchman’s bar and to our delight NO ONE was around; which left us alone on the beach. We plunged into the water and scrubbed up the stinky boys. Then romped, swam, splashed and had a rollicking good time. I did not get burnt, but Kurt did. White boy that he is.

Riley discovered that his daddy made an excellent docking station. So when he wanted a break he just climbed on Kurt; thus eliminating the need to get out of the water. I swear they are just little kids. They were in the water swimming non-stop for almost three hours. Rudy too. Oh and the biggest boy as well, (Kurt).

After I was finally able to drag the boys out of the river, pack up and get everyone back into Monty we headed home. The boys were pretty pooped. But I talked Kurt into catching a matinee, The Brothers Grimm.

Very fun flick. I love Matt Damon & Heath Ledger. They were just amusing. I would give the movie an overall B-. The plot was a bit weak but I enjoyed the premise and visually it was fabulous. I would probably recommend it more for a rental than a must see in the theaters.

After the film we walked around Vancouver a bit then had a burger at Steakbuger. A bit pricey but semi-decent food. We finished the evening off by TRYING to watch Alexander staring Colin Farrell. My comment to anyone reading this is DO NOT WASTE ONE MINUTE OF YOUR LIFE ON THIS DRIVEL. It is B-A-D!!!!!!!!!!!!

There ya go folks a weekend in the life and times of Kelly & Kurt.
