Puppies, dogs, & cats

Recently I have found myself looking at puppies, dogs and kittens. Which usually means I am jonesing for a new addition to our already overfilled home.

I have determined I do not want another cat. I love my kitties but I am a dog person. Sad but true. I have great cats. Citrus, the cat/dog, is totally cool. He wants to be a dog. He sleeps with the dogs, he plays with the dogs, he even eats their dog food. Nickie on the other hand is all cat. She reluctantly tolerates the canine family members, even though every one of the canines are madly in love with her. Apparently, the boys don't realize she is a cat and NOT of their species. They just see a furry female and get silly. For example, I caught Riley just quietly lying next to Nickie scooting on his belly ever so slowly to touch nickie, all the time wagging his tail. He really wants to be her boyfriend. Sam, is just spastic. Every time he sees Nickie he runs up and smells her butt. Dog love.

Toby is our standoffish cat. He does NOT tolerate the dogs. He believes they are vile and should be executed. He watches them from a high perch in the basement, hissing every so often just to show his pure hatred of everything dog.

The question is why do I feel this need to bring another puppy into my already full house? Well, I am insane. That is why.

The first step is admitting the problem. The next step is solving the problem. I can not get another dog. I can't. But, I can help my friends and family acquire new family members.

My sister & Juliann's birthdays are right around the corner. Juliann wants a dog. Karen does not. Karen usually gets things her way in their house. Therefore, this time Juliann should get her way. This is where I come in. Birthday puppy. It needs to be a small dog. I have decided on a dachshund. It will bring years of joy into their home. And Nebby, Karen's surrogate child, will love it.

I am on a mission. A puppy for Juliann. Yippeeeeeee!!
