Searching....

Psalm 143

143:6 I spread forth my hands unto Thee; my soul thirsteth after Thee, as a weary land. Selah

143:7 Answer me speedily, O the Lord, my spirit faileth; hide not Thy face from me; lest I become like them that go down into the pit.

143:8 Cause me to hear Thy loving kindness in the morning, for in Thee do I trust; cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for unto Thee have I lifted up my soul.

As of late I have had some interesting encounters.

A bit of background is needed.

In July of this year my priest was called back to his Monastery to teach new seminarians. Since his departure I have not felt quite the same connection at church as I once was. I have not suffered from faith so much as from a lack of guidance and belief in my religion. I am Catholic. (Universal Christian)

I have had a difficult time attending Mass. I find lately more often than I care to admit that I find other things to do than attend church. This has been weigh heavily on my mind for several months.

Therefore, I have been doing a lot of praying and asking God for some guidance, a sign, something....

Maybe I am stubborn, maybe I am like Bruce in Bruce Almighty, signs all over the place and I still don’t see them.

But in the last month I have had three really weird things happen.

1st Jennifer, my co-worker, returns from a trip and tells me all about her close friend having this amazing religious experience involving St. Augustine and various other Catholic teachings.

2nd Again, Jennifer, comes out to tell me last Tuesday to watch the Barbara Walters special on Where is Heaven, I nod and quickly forget. Later that night Kurt & I are watching Law & Order pausing the TiVo, when out of nowhere the TV changes channels and lands on channel 2, exactly at the beginning of the Barbara Walters special. There are over 500 channels.

3rd Last night I was reading Psalms, specifically Psalm 143 verse 6-8, the Psalm printed above. Today, Jennifer comes in and starts talking to me of this woman who has been recognized by the Catholic Church as a Living saint. (Audrey Santo) Then launches into her own dream about being in a coma and awaking from this deep sleep.

Now, either these are just some seriously bizarre coincidences or God is trying to tell me something and I am too obtuse to get it, or I do get it and still am just not sure what to do.

So… ideas????

The Audrey Santos story is super-freaky. The skeptic part of me wonders if it really is what it represents itself to be. On face value it seems pretty far fetched, yet on the other hand, there are first hand encounters from credible sources who are adament that God is speaking through her.
    What do you think?
    Kurt, give your opinion!

Yes Kurt give your opinion. And anyone else for that matter.

Jen may or may not be an angel. But perhaps is a messanger of God. God uses people for Gods purposes. So why not use Jen to deliver me an answer to my questions?

But I think I am missing the point here. Whether Jen was the conduit or not, God may have been trying to tell me something. The question still remains..WHAT!!!

Are you calling God a "user"!?!!!

    HEE Sireina!

Well, not sure that I would go as far to say that I am an "angel"or even "a messenger of God"-as I myself do not feel especially spiritually grounded, or certain about what or why any of this is the way it is.
What I do know is: my friend's 1st hand encounter with St. Augustene, the Audrey Santos story, and the documentry about Heaven was something that I knew would be a point of interest to you, because you are a practicing Catholic. It definately is not a coincidence that I presented these antedotes to you.
