I, we, are on a budget.
Down to what I, we, can spend on food, entertainment, piss-off money, utilities, home improvements, etc...
I have been adhering to it for FOUR days now. It is painful. But getting oneself into an economic hole is even worse. We are not poverty level by any means. We are not rich, but between what I make & what Kurt makes we should be fine, right.
WRONG.
We are pitiful. So we have made a plan. We will stick to it. We will get a surplus. We will not practice deficit spending like our current government is doing.
I, we, will not spend money we have earmarked for other ventures.
It is just a simple matter of just deciding that this is what I, we, will do.
So, if we, with the limited resources at our disposal, can do this
...why the hell can't the Federal government?????
The National Debt is $8.1 Trillion! and counting.
We are borrowing billions a day from China just to stay afloat.
Federal deficit forecast at $477B
By Peronet Despeignes, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — The federal budget deficit will reach $477 billion this year, the biggest ever in dollar terms, the Congressional Budget Office said Monday
How do we ever expect to dig ourselves out of this hole. Kurt and I are tighting our belts, cutting unnecessary spending, while congress decreases revenue by giving people with the most more.
Oh and they are cutting out stuff too: Medi-care to the elderly, benefits to the VA, (Great way to support our troops) school lunch programs, and of course vital social services that help the lower middle class and the working poor. But hey, gotta tighten that belt.
Yet we are still increasing our federal deficit. We are spending billions of dollars to help create a radical Islamic theocracy in Iraq, We are spending millions on helping Paris Hilton have more free time on her hands, oh and I believe we just gave a raise to our federal representatives because they are doing such a bang up job.
God Bless America.
BTW: Every one should go back and read the Declaration of Independece. It is as applicable to today as it was in 1776. And a bit scary...
