Friday night Kurt announces he is going to fix the bathtub leak. It is an annoying leak and costing us money. I think to myself, cool it is about time.

Saturday morning comes; we have coffee, chat and then Kurt rises from the couch and states, "Well, I better get that leak fixed." I am beaming with happiness. No more leak.

Five hours later and $600.00 poorer we have fixed the leak. We also have dismantled the shower, ripped out the plaster surrounding the bath and now have bare studs showing in my bathroom.

The fixing of the leak resulted in a complete overhaul and torn down walls. We are now going to install tile where once was nasty plastic. But in the mean time I have no shower or bath. The project will be completed at the EARLIEST Wednesday night. But I am projecting Thursday, maybe. You see, not only are we tiling but also we are trying to trouble shoot the hot water pipes issue.

We own a 1930's house with original plumbing. Needless to say the pipes have seen better days. They are filled with rust and crud. We need new piped. Copper Pipes. And at $8.00 a foot it is going to be pricey.

Thus, my husband's Saturday fixit project is now a full-blown home improvement. On the bright side I will have nice white tile in my shower/bath and maybe some semblance of water pressure. I hope.

In the meantime... sponge baths are us.
