Friends

It's the friends you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter.
Marlene Dietrich

It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them. Ralph Waldo Emerson

But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine.
Thomas Jefferson

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
Marcel Proust

Some times I find others express themselves much better than I. To all my friends, God bless you and thank you for putting up with me and being there for me when I need you.

And just one more: The only way to have a friend is to be one.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Sleeping

For the last eight days, since last Tuesday, I have been battling a nasty virus. I cough, I sneeze, and I spew disgusting bodily fluids. Quite frankly, I am gross to be around, especially at night. When I lay down the coughing begins. I toss, I turn, I groan, I moan (and not in happiness) basically I am quite annoying to sleep with.

Thus, I felt I should go sleep in the guestroom and allow my husband SOME semblance of sleep. Molly, our newest furry child, is quite pleased to have Kurt all to herself. She adores him.

So, my dilemma, Kurt is sleeping much better without my nocturnal distractions, Molly is a happier doggy, and Sam is absolutely in heaven. Sam has joined me in the guest bedroom. I don't really want to sleep away from my husband. I rather like his big warm body next to me; although, his snoring can be quite a challenge to sleep through. On the other hand I am just sleeping. Does it matter if we sleep in separate beds?

My parents were married 33 years. They had a long marriage and slept in separate beds. (BTW, mom died or they would still be married and dad would not be living with us)

So, if Kurt is sleeping better, and I am not sure about me because I am still sick and nothing is helping me sleep, should I continue to just sleep in the guest bed and give Kurt a good nights rest?

My hubby

So... this weekend was Kurt's birthday weekend. I gotta say I totally blew the whole birthday thing. I lost the card i had bought him a month ago, failed to get him a present and did not treat him to kingly delights.

We did however meet up with our friends, Mark, Anne and Helen (Anne's mom) on Saturday at Sokol Blosser for some great wine and excellent appetizers. We picked up some nice wines to enjoy over the next few weeks. And after the winery we went to M & A's for a scrumptious dinner. Helen regaled us with tales of her recent trip to Mt. Rushmore and the Dakotas. All in all it was a lovely day.

After M & A's we went home and watched some baseball and Dungeons & Dragons on Sci-Fi. Yes it was the playoffs & the Padres were playing , if you can call it that) but it WAS Kurt's b-day weekend.

Sunday was all about sports. Again I was totally useless, I should state for the record I am sick not just selfish. I sat in front of the TV and watched Football & baseball. Houston & Atalanta went 18 friggin innings. Amazing game. I want to see Houston & the White Socks.

I love October.
