Winter is here

Welcome Old Man Winter.

You arrived a bit early.
We weren't prepared.
The hoses had not been put away.
The plants had not been wrapped.

You snuck in
casting your frost
and ice all about
Chilling the air without
care.

Though I do not fear your wintry stay
I am afraid I will have nothing to say
when the bill from PUD comes my way.
